Master Classes with MUN Music Professors
Master Classes 2016-2017
NLRMTA and MUN Music will be offering Master Classes for instrumental and vocal students this year. The following schedule has been arranged to take
place on Saturday afternoons in Suncor Hall from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM:
Jan. 14 - voice Caroline Schiller - MU-1032
Jan. 21 - piano Tim Steeves - MU-1050
Jan. 28 - piano Maureen Volk - MU-1050
Feb. 4 - voice Jane Leibel - MU-1050
Feb. 11 - piano Kristina Szutor - MU-1050
Master classes are held on Saturdays from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Music School in a designated room.
Students who are auditioning for MUN Music School are encouraged to take part in a master class, and these classes are open to members of NLRMTA and non-members.
As well, NLRMTA members are invited to enter students who are performing at a conservatory level of Grade 8 and above.
In the case of vocal performances, accompanists must be arranged by the student. Accommodation may be made for a specific time slot for each vocal
student in the class so that accompanists are free to leave after that half hour.
There are usually 4 participants in each class, and each student is allotted a half hour for performance and instruction with a MUN faculty member.
It is suggested that all participants be present for the full two hours, both as a courtesy and for the instruction benefits.
A participation fee is charged for each performer on the day of the event: $25 for a student of a NLRMTA member and $30 for a student whose teacher is not a member of NLRMTA.
Audience members, including parents, are charged a nominal fee of $5 each for the two hour class. NLRMTA teachers are exempt from an audience fee.
Please contact Barbara Clarke at: email@example.com if you have students interested in participating.
Please make sure that all the above details are discussed with your student prior to the Master Class.
Thank you for your interest in this worthwhile project!
